Event Re-Cap: May "ILEA Cares" Luncheon

EVENT RE-CAP: May "ILEA Cares" Luncheon

May 11, 2016

Thank you to all who attended our May "ILEA Cares" Luncheon last week! We would also like to thank our host, Mavris Arts & Event Center, for providing us with a gorgeous venue and a spectacular lunch.  It was a wonderful event filled with great connections among ILEA members and guests and a very informative program filled with so much knowledge not only about PUP and what they do as an organization, but more importantly how we can help!  For those that missed this lunch - People for Urban Progress (PUP) is an Indianapolis-based not-for-profit. They rescue discarded materials like the RCA Dome and Super Bowl Signage, redesigning them for public benefit. To learn more about PUP and how you can help - visit

Thank you to Mavris Arts & Event Center, Kristin Hornberger Photography, A Classic Party Rentals, CS Accoutrements, NBE Event Group, Marshall Camera Wedding Films, Aimed Photography, and Aadvanced Limousines for everything that you provided to make this event what it was - beautiful!

Hope to see our ILEA members and guests on June 15th for our monthly luncheon at Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar to brush up on our business etiquette!  For now, enjoy the pictures!

Thank you to our host, Mavris Arts & Event Center

Teachers' Treasures - Event/Conference/Meeting "Leftovers"

Teachers' Treasures - Event/Conference/Meeting "Leftovers"

Please keep sustainability in mind as your plan your upcoming Indiana events.   We support Teachers’ Treasures as a destination for the event, conference, and meeting “leftovers”.     Pens, notepads, flipcharts, lanyards, swag, tote-bags, foam core signs, and just about anything can be given new life in a Marion County classroom.  Teachers' Treasures obtains and distributes school supplies free to teachers of students in need.

Teachers’ Treasures can supply donation containers for your events and can coordinate a pick-up or drop-off time with you.

As you clean out your storage areas, don’t toss things into the trash.    Consider giving it a second-life by donating it to Teachers’ Treasures.

Member Spotlight: Jessica Hadsell with Eventfull Planning

Jessica Hadsell

Event Planner

Eventfull Planning

Eventfull Planning

  •  What is your title and position at your current company?

My current title is “Event Planner” at Eventfull Planning

  • What does your company do? How is it different than others like it?

Eventfull Planning is a full-service event planning and management company that serves Indianapolis and beyond.  We value positive relationships with our clients AND the vendor team for each event, and I have truly enjoyed developing working relationships and friendships with some of the leading event professionals.

  • How many years have you been in the industry?

I have been involved in the Indianapolis events industry, in various capacities, for nearly seven years.

  • What was your very first job?

My first employment opportunity was as a lifeguard.  Between swim practice, teaching swim lessons, and lifeguarding I practically lived at the pool!

  • What lead you in into the event industry?

I was always very organized and found that I was always involved, at some level, with planning events for family, friends and peers.  When I learned that I could get paid to do what I love, it was an easy decision to follow a career path into the events industry.

  • Why did you decide to join ILEA?

I was excited to become an ILEA member for opportunities to meet and work with other talented industry professionals.  I am also looking forward to the many ways I can expand my education through ILEA programs, and hope one day earn the title of Certified Special Event Planner (CSEP).

  • What is your most memorable event? Why?

It’s hard to choose just one!  Though my first Indian wedding comes to mind…I LOVED learning about the culture and traditions, not to mention the saturation of beautiful colors!

  • What’s one thing most people don’t know about you?

I collect magnets from places I visit and have accumulated nearly fifty in just a few years.

  • If you were not in the event industry, what would be your dream job?

I would probably be a dental hygienist.  My family and friends tease me, but I LOVE going to the dentist.  I was in the “no cavity club” until I was 17!

A New Name - A New Chapter

A New Name - A New Chapter

A special message from our International President of The International Live Events Association (ILEA)

As you all know, over the past few years we have been working with our headquarters team and external partners to develop a new name and vision for our organization.

Today, I am delighted to be able to share that work with you and to formally announce the new name for our association as we embark on a new journey together.

Click HERE to watch the official announcement.

The transition to our new brand will take several months to complete, so please be patient during this time as we have a lot of complex tasks to complete. We will be here to help you through that process and provide all of the support and resources necessary, although again please be aware that this may take some time to successfully complete the transition fully.

I hope you enjoy watching the reveal of our new name and learning about what it means to you. This is a very exciting time to be a part of our organization and industry and I look forward to working with you as we begin the next chapter for our association.

Jodi Collen CSEP

International President
